What Did 2022 Bring to the Chemosvit Group?

Dec 28, 2022 | News

After two years of the pandemic, new challenges have come in the form of rising energy prices, inflation and the war in Ukraine. However, the past 12 months have also brought many positive moments. They are proof that if we stand together in times of uncertainty, we can master the challenges and turn them into opportunities.

Together we helped people from Ukraine

After the outbreak of the war, we created a local initiative with the Slovak Red Cross, OZ Rozpuk and OZ Familiaris, in which we supported a donation for people from Ukraine.

At the same time, we jointly created a room in the administrative building where volunteers distributed aid and people from Ukraine could use a PC with internet access.

The subsidiary Chemosvit Fibrochem also donated its products – sleeping bags, thermal underwear and medical clothing, bed linen and socks – to Ukrainians who came to Slovakia, as well as to those who stayed in their homeland.

Chemosvit Folie received three awards for packaging solutions

A partnership with TORAY to help fine-tune waterless offset printing technology began in 2021. In addition to printing plates, TORAY also supplies special inks. Their formula was tuned by specialists from the headquarters in Tokyo, who took part in tests in Svit.

In May, our colleagues received the WorldStar 2022 award during the IPACK-IMA fair in Milan. The jury was impressed by the multipurpose PE bag, which serves as packaging for toilet paper and a waste bag once the contents have been used.

Success also came in the OBAL ROKU (Packaging of the Year) 2022 competition, where two sustainable packaging solutions for nut and dry mix packaging won. The solutions also won a ticket to the next edition of the WorldStar competition.

Chemosvit Fibrochem developed business relations in Dubai

Our colleagues were also present at the EXPO 2020 Dubai, where they presented the Prolen® Medical line of clothing and textiles as part of a week dedicated to health and wellness. The stay in Dubai brought, among other things, the establishment of cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Prevention of the United Arab Emirates and contacts with the Indian Ministry of Economy.

Prolen® Recycle is a yarn made from recycled polypropylene waste that has become an innovation to the product portfolio after a year of development. Products made from this yarn can be recycled again, thus contributing to the circular economy.

At the beginning of the year, Fibrochem was awarded the Inovatívny čin roka 2020 (Innovative Act of 2020) award for the Prolen® Medical line, which contributed to solving the situation with Covid-19. It was also one of the three companies to receive an award at the Export Forum 2022 for successfully exporting products and promoting the reputation of Slovakia.

Chemosvit Strojchem modernized its machinery

Investment in equipment to help this subsidiary implement Industry 4.0 elements continued this year. An automated gantry type CNC machining centre will enable the machining of parts up to 20m in length, enabling it to deliver complex solutions to customers.

We don’t know what the next year will bring. But we know that if we show commitment, follow our corporate principles and, most importantly, stand together, we will master each of its challenges.
