The competition with the Award of the Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic, “Inovatívny čin roka 2020” (Innovative Act of 2020), shows that Slovak entrepreneurs can also develop exceptional innovations. In the latest edition, 35 solutions were submitted in the competition, one of which also belonged to our subsidiary.
Healthcare clothing impressed the judging panel
The competition aims to encourage entrepreneurs in innovative activities and promote interesting solutions. The judges take into account criteria such as the originality of the innovation and its contribution to the consumer, society or the environment.
The solutions could be submitted in four categories:
- innovation that contributed to solving the situation with Covid-19
- product innovation
- technological innovation
- service innovation
Chemosvit Fibrochem won the award for “Innovation that contributed to solving the situation with Covid-19” for the PROLEN® MEDICAL line for healthcare professionals. The category was added only this year and included various solutions which shared a common goal – to protect the health and lives of people in times of pandemic.
The judging panel could award only one award within the category. We are therefore honoured to have chosen PROLEN® MEDICAL medical clothing and textiles.
Effective protection against coronavirus
Antimicrobial clothing and textile products are made of 100% polypropylene yarn Prolen® Siltex and Prolen ®Bodyfresh, certified and made in Slovakia. The textiles are treated with a permanent antimicrobial additive based on silver and zinc ions. This additive destroys viruses, bacteria and prevents the growth of fungi. It also reduces coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 by 99%.
Textile products were first used to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the form of face masks. We have gradually expanded the portfolio by medical clothing and bed linen. The products have helped and continue to help protect paramedics and emergency services.
