In 2021, a lot has happened in the world. Despite the pandemic situation, we did not stop working on the development of our company. Thanks to the hard work of our employees and colleagues, we have experienced several successes. We were also pleased to be able to return to the fairs and meet with the professional community or potential business partners face-to-face.
Company development for a better future
At the beginning of the year, we were pleased with the approval of the investment project for Chemosvit Fibrochem. The funds will be used to build a centre for the development of textile intelligence and antimicrobial technologies. The centre will be the first of its kind in Slovakia and will help us develop prototypes of protective workwear and medical textiles.
As customers have been showing an increased interest in flexographic printing products for a long time, our subsidiary Chemosvit Folie has expanded its machinery with a flexographic printing machine from Windmöller & Hölscher. As a result, it increased its production capacity by 1,900 t/year and strengthened its competitiveness in the field of flexographic printing products.
This year, Chemosvit Strojchem started implementing the insulation project, which will help to improve the thermal properties of the premises for the administration and machining of parts. As a result, we will reduce not only the reserves in our expenditures, but also carbon dioxide emissions.
Success as a reward for the work of our people
In the Obal Roku 2021 (Packaging of the Year) competition, we received three awards for two of our sustainable solutions – packaging for toilet paper with a secondary function and recyclable packaging for retro biscuits.
In June, the State Institute for Drug Control registered the Prolen® Medical face mask (TYPE II) from Chemosvit Fibrochem, s.r.o., as a medical device. So far, it is the only company in Slovakia that has such registration for its face mask.
We also obtained the Corporate Social Responsibility certificate for 2020. Thanks to this, we are ranked among the 2% of evaluated companies doing business actively in Slovakia, which have a responsible approach to their obligations and ethical issues.
Return to fairs and exhibitions
Many fairs were held again this year. Our colleagues from Chemosvit Folie visited the Fachpack fair in Nuremberg to get an insight into current packaging trends.
The Arab Health 2021 exhibition, which is the largest exhibition focusing on health care in the Arabian Peninsula, took place at the end of June. Our subsidiary Chemosvit Fibrochem made its debut this year.
The MEDICA 2021 exhibition was held in Düsseldorf in November, where colleagues from Chemosvit Fibrochem presented medical clothing and textiles from the Prolen® Medical line to the specialist public.
