This year, our company received the Corporate Social Responsibility certificate for 2020. Thanks to this, we are ranked among 2% of evaluated companies doing business actively in Slovakia, which have a responsible approach to the fulfilment of their obligations, care about the ethical profile of the company, and through their corporate philanthropy are an essential pillar of economic growth of the country.
The evaluation was prepared by Slovenská informačná a marketingová spoločnosť (Slovak Information and Marketing Company), which is the first news agency of its kind in our country. It deals with the collection and processing of economic, credit and marketing information from the Slovak market. It obtains data from public and non-public sources as well as from its own intelligence activities and subsequently processes and integrates them into its systems.
What does social responsibility mean?
Corporate social responsibility is a voluntary effort by companies to integrate social and environmental issues into their business. There is no single right way to implement this concept. This can be, for example, a transparent and fair approach to customers and suppliers, employee care, environmental protection and other areas.
For us, social responsibility is based on three pillars:
1. Economic pillar that allows for sustainable development
That is why it includes product quality and safety management systems in accordance with international standards, organization of training sessions for customers, transparent supplier selection or sound relations with financial institutions.
2. Social pillar that gives our company a human face
It involves the OSH management system, collective agreements entered into by the employer and employees, the Chemosvit Foundation or financial or material aid for emergency medical service.
3. Environmental pillar that gives us a sense of responsibility
It includes, for example, the introduction of ecological production programmes, the use of technological waste as a secondary raw material or the environmental management system according to international standards.
Organizations dedicated to social responsibility have a precondition for greater competitiveness and a positive perception not only of their employees but also customers, partners and citizens of the region where they operate. Social responsibility is about what we can do, not just what we have to do as an enterprise.
