This year, too, our subsidiary Chemosvit Folie participated in the OBAL ROKU (Packaging of the Year) competition and, again, it was not only about taking part. Representatives of Chemovit Folie received three awards during the gala evening.
The OBAL ROKU competition is intended for solutions by Slovak and Czech companies, and it aims to promote innovations and technology in the packaging industry.
Silver for the packaging with a secondary function
The more successful of the two products was the packaging for toilet paper, which won an award in the beauty products category and at the same time a silver jury chair award.
It is a sustainable packaging solution that meets 4 out of 5 circular economy criteria. It is fully recyclable thanks to the pure PE structure, while the use of PCR (post-consumer recycled) and PIR (post-industrial recycled) material saves resources.
The packaging can serve as a garbage bag after emptying. After its recycling, it is used to produce PCR recyclate, which will be the raw material in the production of packaging for hygiene products.
This packaging will also represent us in the WorldStar Packaging Awards competition, organized by the World Packaging Organization.
Recyclable packaging for retro biscuits
The packaging solution for Princezky biscuits scored in the food category. It is fully recyclable and uses offset printing with an EB curing system. This sustainable printing technology uses no photoinitiators or solvents, is more energy efficient, and does not leave residual inks.
We used OPP monofilm instead of the laminate, which can be sealed already at a temperature of 80°C. This saves energy for heating the sealing jaws during the packaging process.
