Princezky is a popular coffee biscuit that many of us remember from childhood. Thanks to it, we can go back in time nostalgically to days when we enjoyed a delicious biscuit as children.
Princezky is an evergreen brand, and we at Chemosvit are devoted to it in packaging design and printing techniques just as to other important brands.
We decided to seek not only new design solutions but also printing options during the last redesign of the packaging graphics. We chose to use offset printing with EB (electron beam). It is a curing system that – thanks to the sustainability of the technology – contributes to a cleaner environment.
When printing with this system, no solvents or photoinitiators are used, and printing is done with special inks, leaving no residual inks. The printing process is thus more energy efficient compared to other technologies. It is not necessary to dry the inks, and the film is not exposed to thermal stress.
We chose offset printing not only because it is more environmentally friendly but also to increase the attractiveness of the packaging. This form of printing enables the printing of small details and thin lines. The high-gloss lacquer enabled us to use the OPP monofilm, as its plasticity and heat resistance substitutes the properties of the upper OPP layer of the laminate.
For the production of packaging for Pincezky, we used a white film, which can be sealed at a temperature of 80°C. That saves energy for heating the sealing jaws in the packaging process.
