Europe Day commemorates the so-called Schuman declaration of 9 May 1950, which became the foundation of the European Union. Unity and cooperation between the Member States has also helped create many organisations that bring together and represent companies and entire industries. Our subsidiary Chemosvit Folie is a member of several of them.
CEFLEX
The name stands for “Circular Economy for Flexible Packaging”. It is an initiative of more than 180 European companies, associations and organisations dedicated to the circular economy for flexible packaging.
All areas of the production chain are represented, from raw material producers to waste management companies. The initiative aims to increase the collection, sorting and recycling of flexible packaging and ensure that all flexible packaging is circular by 2025.
Sustainability is a priority for Chemosvit Folie. Therefore, it supports the five steps to creating a circular economy for the flexible packaging segment, including the collection of packaging for sorting and recycling or the transition to mono-material packaging.
European Rotogravure Association (ERA)
ERA is an international organisation dedicated to supporting gravure printing users, whose mission is to promote gravure printing among both users and customers. It also represents the industry in policy and legislative matters relating to gravure printing and participates in the work of international standardisation committees.
CZECH AND SLOVAK PACKAGING ASSOCIATION SYBA
This association brings together manufacturers and suppliers in the field of packaging in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Its activities include, for example, promoting the interests of its members at the legislative level or participating in the development of technical standards.
It also organises a competition called OBAL ROKU (PACKAGING OF THE YEAR), in which Chemosvit Folie has won several awards for its packaging solutions. An example is its success in 2021, when it won three awards for its sustainable packaging. The activities of this association are linked to the World Packaging Organisation, operating internationally.
