New Generation of Board of Directors Comes up With New Possibilities and Solutions

Dec 21, 2020 | News

The main goal of the board of directors is to ensure that Chemosvit continues to be a progressive company that applies innovative production methods.

The new generation of the board of directors consists of five directors: Jaroslav Mervart, Martin Ľach, Pavol Králik, Marián Baláž and Peter Berník.

Jaroslav Mervart is, in addition to the position of chairman of the board of directors, also the CEO of the Chemosvit Group. He has been working for the company since 1993 when he was part of a team of programmers as an information technology analyst. For almost 30 years at Chemosvit, he has held, for example, the position of change manager, director of logistics or managing director of Chemosvit Folie.

Martin Ľach joined Chemosvit in 2001 after graduating from the University of Economics in Bratislava. He worked as a sales officer for packaging machines. From September 2013, he worked in the joint venture Terichem, and later Tatrafan, and focused on packaging and tobacco films. Since August 2019, he has been the purchasing and sales director of the Chemosvit Group.

Pavol Králik started his career at Chemosvit in 2004, when he took up the position of controller. He later continued as a planning and financial analysis manager. In 2009–2010, he completed his education at the Nottingham Trent University in the field of strategic management and completed his MBA degree. He currently works as the economic director of Chemosvit. He also holds the position of managing director at Finchem Insurance and chairman of the board of directors at Strojchem.

Marián Baláž has years of experience and knowledge gained during his work at international companies, in various posts and industries within Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany and other countries of Central and Eastern Europe. He has decided to capitalise on them for the benefit of the Chemosvit Group, and combine them with experience and expertise of his colleagues working at the Group for a long time.

Peter Berník joined Chemosvit in 2006 as a specialist in commercial law, where he worked until 2010. From 2007, he held the position of secretary of the board of directors of Chemosvit, a.s., later secretary of the supervisory board of Chemosvit, a.s. and the supervisory board of Finchem, a.s. Since 2015, he has been a member of the board of directors of the subsidiary Chemosvit Energochem. He currently heads the law firm BERNÍK & partneri, s.r.o., which provides comprehensive legal services to the Chemosvit and Finchem Group in the field of commercial law and related areas of law.

With new members of the board of directors, the Chemosvit Group brings new opportunities and solutions for partners, new opportunities for the implementation of ideas, as well as joint projects.

An important area that directors focus on is still training, motivation of people and their willingness to take on new challenges. These are the essential preconditions for ensuring the continuous development of products, as well as finding a balance between efficient production and the protection of the common living space.

The new generation of the board of directors intends to continue the development of long-term and fair relationships with business partners and, at the same time, be a reliable and innovative partner that introduces new technologies in the fields of management, logistics, production and environmental protection.
