The history of this subsidiary began in 1934, when the first production of traditional yarns was launched. Since then, its products have been improved and gradually expanded from Tatras to the rest of the world. At present, they are also used by the most famous sports brands.

The product portfolio includes polypropylene textile and technical multifilament yarn Prolen®, special polypropylene yarns, colour masterbatches, and socks.

First viscose and later polyamide fibres were replaced in 1974 by polypropylene yarn under the name Prolen®. This yarn is breathable, light, durable and has the ability to maintain the ideal temperature when in contact with the skin. At the same time, it is ecological no toxic dyes or pesticides are used in the production and it is recyclable.

Thanks to its properties, it is used in the textile, automotive, food, furniture and other industries. It is also used in functional clothing of many sports brands, such as Nike or North Face.

Modifications of Prolen® yarn are also used in the production of face masks, medical clothing and textiles. These are Prolen® Siltex and Prolen® Bodyfresh yarns, which are permanently treated with an antimicrobial additive based on silver and zinc ions.

These active substances ensure, among other things, hygienic freshness, cleanliness and reduce the risk of cross-contamination in the hospital environment. Antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties are confirmed by several certificates. Prolen® Siltex and Prolen® Bodyfresh yarns also effectively protect against coronavirus.

Chemosvit Fibrochem has been producing socks since 1997. It produces them under its own brands (Karpathia, Johny Tatrosh, Folkies) or customer brands. It also produces socks for policemen, the army, and postmen. Socks can be not only classic but also designed for various sports. Prolen® yarn is mainly used for their production.

The company’s vision is to continue being a world leader in special polypropylene yarns. It wants to satisfy the customers’ needs with special types of Prolen® yarn while improving their health and protecting the environment.
